Urban SixDue to human fraudulence and their inability to care for their planet, Urban Recyclocities were formed to control and manage every diminishing resource and to establish a new method of living. A group of hybrids and civilians from different specialised backgrounds were brought together to lead and bring peace to each city. The first seven were a physician, a roboticist, a military officer, a food scientist, a lawyer, an energy conservationist and a teacher.
Many reformation bills were written up and passed to facilitate the process. The population would be governed and ruled by these new laws and standards. All that was deemed necessary was executed, and the unnecessary culled. An enormous effort by humanity to protect itself from a history it would not want to repeat.
Balance was eventually restored, or something resembling it, but thing’s weren’t perfect. Every city developed its own vices and man’s inherent instinct to abuse and destroy slowly resurfaced. Those who found the new system unacceptable soon rebelled and renounced themselves from the cities, building their own communities. Wars for resources began again, but where once they were for oil and minerals, clean air and water were the new commodities. Earth, still scarred, was never the same again.
This is the story of one of the urban cities – Urban Recyclocity No.6. A story of the future, about life and more importantly, about ‘us’.
